Ah, the notion that implies that "selfishness" is an unacceptable way to human.
Truthfully, it's vital. Giving until there's nothing left is no way to live - how is your cup filled, returned to it's state of abundance? How do you tend to the things that you need in order to thrive and enjoy this life to the fullest?
It's quite apparent that only certain human beings would spin being "selfish" into something negative - when truly, it means you are taking care of what you need. No one else will take care of this. No one else can truly know how. And the only ones that don't benefit from it are those that want some sense of power over you.
No, this does not mean that you don't care about anyone else. It just means that in some situations, you can't prioritize the needs of others above your own. The meaning of the word has been twisted by those that want to minimize your needs and being equally deserving of the same amount you're expected to give.
